A Brand collaboration with Jotun Global for their Color Trend 2023 ‘STORIES’ campaign.
In 2023, I had an opportunity to collaborate with Jotun Malaysia for their “Stories” Color Campaign. I created a series of sculptural pieces specially for Jotun, which were exhibited during the Color Launching & Campaign showcase. The works reflected the interplay between material texture and Jotun’s color palette, translating hues into tactile woven forms that aligned with the campaign’s narrative on personal and emotional connections to color.
Among the featured works were:
What Knot Ceramic Series – Painted using selected shades from the “Stories” color collection, each ceramic form was wrapped with various knotting techniques inspired by traditional Malaysian rattan furnishings. The series merged craft traditions with contemporary design sensibilities, exploring the relationship between surface, structure, and color.
Tissage – An organically shaped vase sculpted entirely from 5mm three-ply rope. Guided by intuition, the form was shaped by hand, allowing its natural flow and curves to emerge freely. The piece embodies the meditative and expressive nature of handcraft, where form takes shape through rhythm and instinct.
The Cocoon – Built upon a base structure of high-density braided cord, the form is layered with strings of varying textures to create soft, organic strokes of color across its surface. The piece embodies a state of transformation, a vessel for emergence and renewal. Conceived as a performance piece, it represents a performer enclosed within, striving to break free like a moth after metamorphosis - a poetic reflection on growth, confinement, and liberation.
